Russ Hubrath is a long-time Automotive Painter at D&S Automotive. Automotive painters refinishes damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership quality specifications and time standards.
How did you get started in the automotive industry?
My dad liked to mess around on cars when I was a kid. North High School offered me a vocational ed classes and I went into that career path.
What is your favorite part about your job?
Seeing a car completely done. Delivered and finished. Knowing the satisfaction of the work complete. Relief of being done.
What do you wish more people, especially students in high school, knew about the profession?
How challenging it is day to day, even hour to hour. Tidiest work at times and need to be patient.
Just for fun, what is your dream car?
A Gullwing Mercedes.
