This week the Rotary Club of Mentor was once again a part of the United Way of Lake County’s Day of Caring. This year the club donated a sail shade canopy, as well as the time to build it, to the Broadmoor School.
D&S Automotive Founder/President, Carmen Paterniti, joined over a dozen more Mentor Rotarians to install the sail shade for the students at Broadmoor.
“It has always been important to give back to the community,” says Paterniti of the project. “Our community supports us, so we have always made the effort to support them.”

The Rotary Club of Mentor has a longstanding partnership with Broadmoor. In addition to the annual Christmas party with the children at the Farm Park and monthly woodworking sessions during the school year, the club also takes part in the Day of Caring nearly every year with Broadmoor. Past projects include the Special Olympics Training Center, a gazebo for the adult training center, and sensory room for adults with autism.
The Rotary Club of Mentor was chartered on May 22, 1967 and recently celebrated 50 years of service. The club meets every Thursday at noon at the Mentor Harbor Yachting Club. For more information on the Rotary Club of Mentor, visit their website by clicking here.
