Lake Humane Society’s mission is to provide a gentle and caring haven for the homeless, abandoned and injured animals that come into their care. They persevere in defending and protecting animal life through education, integrity and leadership. Every day they rescue animals, promote adoption and provide education and animals for these animals in need.
D&S Automotive supports the Lake Humane Society because of everything said above as well as our love for animals, especially those in need. Being neighbors to the humane society down the street on Tyler Blvd gives us an opportunity to see the animals up close and interact with them on walks. These animals are truly special and each one has an outstanding personality of its own.
The most important thing about the Lake Humane Society is that they don’t receive any government funding or money from any national humane organization. All of their support comes from contributions made by people and local businesses trying to make a difference in the lives of these dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals.
Lake Humane Society holds fundraising events throughout the year. There are still some upcoming events for 2016, including Miles for Mutts 5K and the Black Cat Ball. Be sure to check them out, invite your friends, and support this organization.
Miles for Mutts 5K is open to everyone on Saturday, September 24th. Packets are available at 7 am on race day. All proceeds will go to the Lake Humane Society. Registration is open here.
This is the 8th year in a row for the Annual Black Cat Ball and Silent Auction. Attendees are encouraged to dress up for Halloween and have fun with great food, drinks and dancing. Tickets found here.
